Workout Routine Tips for a Consistent Fitness Journey

tips to build a consistent workout routine

Building a consistent workout routine can be challenging, but with the right approach, it can become a natural part of your daily routine.

This blog post is all about how you can make workout and exercise as part of your daily routine to build a habit to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.

My Fitness Journey

I was not into sports in any sense when I was a teenager. The first exercise that I practiced consistently was yoga. I was attracted by the serenity and peace it provided me and the elegance of different yoga poses.

Yoga has helped me as a beginner in fitness to build the physical fitness foundation to embrace other types of exercise, including weight training, HIIT and running. My current exercise routines include a combination of weight training, cardio training, yoga and mobility works.

Undoubtedly, yoga can help to build strength, especially with all those advanced yoga poses, like inversions, arm balances. However, since muscle growth requires progressive overload, as yoga is using our own body weight only, there’s a limit on how heavy the load is, and if you would like to gain muscle mass faster, using extra weights can certainly help.

During my fitness journey, with the fitness foundations built with my consistent yoga practice, I have started to incorporate other forms of exercise in my routine. I still practice yoga regularly, it is one of my fondest exercises, as it improves my flexibility, balance and the activation of those smaller muscles in my body. More importantly, the linking of breath with movement evidently can bring yogi an immense amount of peace and calmness.
